Doctoral Colloquium's Authors

The Doctoral Colloquium is designed for doctoral candidates who are in the process of developing their doctoral theses. It provides a space for active and constructive debate. The goal is to enhance the quality of thesis projects through interactive discussions and constructive feedback from a panel of experienced researchers in the field of Business Management.

Doctoral candidates who attend will have the opportunity to present their research proposals and receive feedback, including general suggestions, theoretical approaches and methodologies applicable to their research and relevant bibliographic references.

To make the most of the workshop, it is recommended that the research proposals are sufficiently advanced. This includes identifying a gap in the literature, formulating the research question, establishing the theoretical framework and presenting at least some preliminary results.

The preferred language for presentations and discussions at the Doctoral Colloquium is English.

Structure of the submission:

Thesis proposals must be submitted in English and should include the following sections:

  1. Title.

  2. Abstract.
  3. Introduction: Relevance of the study, summary of the literature review and the gap to be addressed (research question), and the expected contribution.

  4. Theoretical framework.

  5. Methodology: Details of the empirical study, including data collection, measures and analysis techniques.

  6. Discussion and conclusions (Preliminary or expected results).

  7. Contributions of your study (theoretical and practical implications, policy insights).

  8. References (a minimum of ten relevant references).

Doctoral Colloquium Dynamics:

The workshop will take place over a full day on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Teaching Block (Aulario), Arrosadia campus of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA). However, PhD candidates are strongly encouraged to attend the entire conference, as active participation in all sessions will enrich their academic experience.

The goal of the doctoral workshop is to discuss your papers in small mentoring groups and to seek support and guidance on the key challenges that you are are facing in a particular stage of doctoral research you are in.

The program includes several talks and discussions on key topics for doctoral training, organized into two blocks. The first block will address important aspects of research design, while the second block will focus on the importance of self-care strategies to help you to protect and maintain your well-being during this stage of your career.

Throughout the day, doctoral candidates will have an opportunity to present their thesis projects through interactive discussions that are provided in friendly atmosphere. Each project will be assigned a “discussant” who will provide detailed and constructive feedback aimed at refining the project. Additionally, other workshop attendees will have the opportunity to offer comments and discuss the research proposals. The dynamic environment is promoted and supported by poster sessions.

It is highly recommended that participants prepare the resume of their posters in a maximum of 5 minutes to present the key points of their proposals in a poster (that they should be printed).

Students will be informed of the number assigned to their poster and the time slot for their poster presentation when they register in person for the doctoral workshop on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

As a part of the consortium, there will be a voluntary team assignment conducted during the conference for those PhD candidates planning to attend the entire conference. This assignment will require collaborative work within thematic groups of PhD candidates based on their shared research interests, drawing on insights gained from both the workshop and conference sessions. The outcomes of this team assignment will be presented on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the afternoon. Each group will deliver a brief presentation summarizing key findings, new research ideas inspired by conference papers, and proposed methodologies for advancing their doctoral projects.
