On Monday, 15 June, starting at 19:15, conference participants will be able to enjoy a range of social and cultural activities designed to showcase some of the most emblematic places in Santander and its surroundings.

Enjoy a panoramic boat trip through Santander Bay, considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The excursion offers the chance to admire some of the most iconic landmarks of Santander’s coastline from the sea, combining heritage and landscape.
The tour will depart from the Embarcadero de Los Reginas and will pass by emblematic sites such as the La Magdalena Peninsula, Mouro Island, El Sardinero, Cabo Mayor, Santa Marina Island, and the beaches of Loredo, Somo, and El Puntal, returning afterwards to the city centre next to the Botín Centre.

The Paraninfo of the University of Cantabria houses the celebrated Quintanilla Frescoes, one of the most significant artistic works linked to the memory of the Spanish Civil War. This monumental ensemble, created by the Santander-born painter Luis Quintanilla for the 1939 New York World’s Fair, stands as an extraordinary artistic and historical testimony.
The visit will provide insight into the historical context of the work and allow visitors to admire the five frescoes that make up the series “Love Peace and Hate War”, currently displayed in one of the University of Cantabria’s most emblematic spaces.
